The Federal Congress Conference to be held at World University Service Center in Madras from 8th Aug to 10th Aug 2012.
        In the Opening day of this conference will be the end of the celebration of Centenary year (2011-2012) of Our beloved Founder leader KR and also our circle union to organize a seminar on ‘Future India Post’. 
       After a long gap, 27 officials got the LSG Accountant promotion in Tamilnadu Circle.
       LSG General Line promotion is also be expected to release in the first week of August.
Some important issues discussed in the 4th Anomaly Committee meeting held on 17.07.2012.
         For Promotees, Govt will consider for grant of entry pay in all such cases wherever the recruitment rules provide for Direct Recruitment.
         Restoration of commuted value of pension after 12 years instead of 15 years will be considered.
          All matters including anomalies of MACP will be discussed in the next meeting to be held on 27.07.2012

A Notification for Direct recruitment of Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants is to be issued on 11-08-2012 in leading news papers in English/Hindi.

The cost of Application form is Rs. 50/- sale of Application forms will commence from 11-08-2012 and closes by 25-09-2012 in all Head post offices. Examination fee Rs. 200/- is to be paid in ACG 67/UCR.

Last date for receipt of Applications 01-10-2012

The Examination for eligible Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) to fill up the unfilled vacancies of LGO Examination will also be held as per extant Rules/guidelines of the department on the same day and time decided for Direct Recruitment as per the same syllabus etc.

India Post, BSNL tie-up to offer money order service via mobile

NEW DELHI: The postal department has entered into a partnership with state-run telecom company BSNL to provide money order service using mobile phones.
"The Department has signed an agreement with BSNL for providing money remittance through mobile phones,"Department of Posts (DoP) said in an official statement today.
As per the pact, BSNL has been provided with the requirements of DoP for development of the software.
A DoP spokesperson said the software development is going on and rollout of the pilot is expected in August-September, 2012.
Initially, a pilot of the service will run for a period of 6 months in Punjab, Bihar, Delhi and Kerala Circles, the statement said.
As per the spokesperson, DoP will give commission to BSNL for each remittance made and the commission will vary on the amount transferred.
